We hope you love what we’ve created as much as we do!
After months spent searching for the right place to begin our new family adventure we found, and immediately fell in love with, the Wye Valley. We moved here in August 2018 and began building our small glamping site.
Since arriving, Gerry has spent most of his time in our workshop – a former aircraft hangar which now forms part of the site. Gerry has designed and built our unique accommodations and has built or renovated our communal areas using reclaimed materials and upcycling whenever possible. Abi takes care of all the admin to make sure everything runs smoothly and can often be found in the veggie garden.
Loving nature at Cadora Woods Glamping
We are passionate about the natural environment. We harvest our rain water, have installed solar panels and use only environmentally friendly products in our kitchen and bathroom. We have started to grow our own fruit and vegetables (bear with us as we are new to this but feel free to lend a hand if gardening is your thing or simply enjoy our fresh produce).
To encourage wildlife we have bird feeders and tables, bug hotels and have planted lots of new hedges and flowers. Nature rewards us daily – wild deer and hares like to pop by along with an astonishing array of birds, including beautiful red kites, and the very rare lesser horseshoe bat.
We are fortunate to be a Dark Sky Destination so on a clear summer’s night the sky glows with the Milky Way and a myriad of constellations – and maybe a shooting star or two.
“Fabulous yurt in stunning countryside. Beautifully constructed and in a perfect spot overlooking the valley.” – Natalie, August 2019
“Gerry and Abi are great hosts. The site is lovely and makes for a perfect peaceful retreat. The yurt was lovingly crafted and kitted out with a great bed.” – Tom, July 2019
